The latest update for Sophos Antivirus for Mac Home Edition will trigger a message after an automatic update, and/or the computer is restarted, informing users that the product is being discontinued. The message will also provide steps for customers to upgrade to Sophos Home Free edition.
Why did I receive this message/update?
The Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition is no longer supported by Sophos, as it has reached its end of life. It will no longer receive further updates, and some features may not work on the latest versions of MacOS. To provide the best possible protection, we are migrating legacy users to Sophos Home Free, our business-grade cybersecurity solution for Home users! Sophos Home is a modern, full featured security product that provides a modern security solution for Macs.

PLEASE REVIEW THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU PROCEED:
- Sophos Home requires Mac OS X 10.12 Sierra or higher or higher; minimum 4 GB of free disk space, minimum 4 GB of RAM. Find more details here
MacOS 10.9 users: Sophos Antivirus for Mac Home Edition does not support macOS 10.9, please consider upgrading your OS to keep your computer protected with Sophos Home.

Customers may click on Remind Me Later to hide the pop-up message until the next reboot. Otherwise, click on Upgrade now to proceed with the creation of your Sophos Home account/logging to your existing account to download and install Sophos Home Free.
