This article applies to: Sophos Home for macOS
What is happening?
You receive a message reading Welcome to Sophos Home. Follow these steps to allow Sophos Home to protect your Mac.
Why is this happening?
Apple requires macOS users to grant Full Disk Access to applications that need to access/modify user folders (such as antivirus software). As such, after completing the Sophos Home installation,or upgrading the operating system, users will need to perform additional steps to allow Sophos Home to protect their Macs.
What to do
1 - Click "Let's Start"
2 - Follow the "We need your permission..." 1st step "Click Here" to open the Full Disk Access panel
3 - Drag and drop the "Drag This" icon into the Full Disk Access panel
4- Enter your macOS password to proceed
4 - Missing Sophos components will be added to the Full Disk Access list.
5-Click Done, you'll notice the Sophos Home Shield will turn from Orange to black/white and show protected within a minute or so.
Note: If the steps are not completed, the pop up will show up on reboot and/or when trying to run a scan. This is to ensure the process is completed and Apple's requirements are met to allow the antivirus to protect your system.
