What are Sophos Home coupons?
Coupons are provided through the Sophos Home Commercial Edition (SHCE) or Academic programs. They allow eligible users—employees or university students—to upgrade their Sophos Home account to Premium or Free Academic, depending on the type of coupon.
You can use the coupon for as long as your company or university maintains an active agreement with Sophos.
Important information about coupons
- Coupons can be activated one time only. Once used, they are permanently linked to the account that redeemed them.
- Coupons cannot be reapplied, transferred, or reused with another account.
- Coupons cannot be used on top of an active subscription (including Trials). You must wait until your current subscription expires before the Have a coupon? option becomes available.
- Your employer or university will provide the steps and emails needed to generate and activate your coupon. If you did not receive this information, contact your school or employer’s IT department.
- Accounts upgraded with a coupon are not entitled to Premium Support. For help, use your school or employer’s IT department and the Sophos Home Knowledge Base or Chatbot.
Coupon requirements
- Coupons can be used one time only and become linked to the specific Sophos Home account that activates them.
- Coupons will not stack with Premium or Trial subscriptions. If Premium is purchased on top of a coupon, Premium will take precedence.
- Coupons cannot be transferred or added to the same account more than once.
- Coupons will automatically renew as long as your company or university continues its agreement with Sophos.
- Gift coupons will expire after a set amount of time (anywhere from months to years, depending on the promotion).

Look for an email from Sophos Home
Tip: Check your spam or junk folder. - Create an account (new users) or sign in (existing users) using the link in the email
- Access your Dashboard with your account
- Click on your email address at the top right of the screen > My account
- Unlock your account settings by entering your password and clicking Unlock

Locate Subscription and click Have a coupon?
- Important: This option will not appear if you have an active subscription or Trial. You must wait for your current subscription to expire before applying the coupon.
- Apply your coupon. Your Sophos Home account, and any devices linked to it, will switch to Premium or Free Academic, depending on the coupon type.
Frequently asked questions
Q: I receive a message stating "The coupon you entered is not valid"
A: Verify you are entering the coupon correctly, and that you haven't already used it for another account.
Q: I receive a message stating "The coupon has already been used"
A: This message appears when the coupon has already been added to an account. Coupons can be activated one time only.
Q: Why don’t I see the “Have a coupon?” option?
A: This option is hidden when your account already has an active subscription. You’ll need to wait until your current subscription expires. Once it does, the “Have a coupon?” option will reappear, and you can apply your coupon.
Note: If you have a paid subscription you will need to cancel auto-renewal to allow it to expire.
Trial subscriptions will automatically expire after 30 days.
