By default, Sophos Home Premium subscriptions auto-renew to help prevent a lapse in protection. You can turn auto-renewal off at any time, see Disable auto-renewal below.
If you already have a Sophos Home subscription and want to buy a different one (for a different price or length), you’ll need to:
- Turn off auto-renewal,
- Wait for your current subscription to expire, then
- Buy the subscription you want.
Please note:
- You can’t convert a Sophos Home subscription into a business subscription.
- You can’t extend a subscription beyond 3 years.

How do I check if my Subscription is about to renew or expire?
Automated notifications:
Our payments partner, cleverbridge, will send renewal emails, to the email account you purchased your subscription with, around the time your paid subscription renews. Use the Purchase lookup if you need more information, or if you haven't received the email yet.
You can also check your subscription status in the Sophos Home Dashboard:
- Sign in to your Sophos Home Dashboard https://my.sophos.com
- Click your email address (top right)
- Select My Account
- Look under Subscriptions to find the date and status
To quickly understand what you’re seeing:
- If it says “Renews”, auto-renewal is ON and your subscription will renew on the listed date.
- If it says “Expires”, auto-renewal is OFF and your subscription will end on the listed date.
- Use Manage, or the cleverbridge email mentioned above, to make changes.
How can I reinstate an expired subscription?
To continue using Sophos Home, you’ll need to renew your subscription (or purchase one if you were using a trial).
- In the Sophos Home app, click Renew now to purchase or renew.
- Or sign in to your Sophos Home Dashboard and click Renew Now or Upgrade Now.

- Need more help? See> Your license has expired
Do I need to update Sophos Home after I renew my subscription?
For automatic renewals:
No. You don’t need to update Sophos Home after you renew, as long as you use the same email address you used when you installed Sophos Home.
Sophos Home links to your account, so once you renew (or purchase again after expiration), your protection should turn back on automatically.
For manual renewals, or expired trials:
After purchasing Sophos Home, you must activate your license key following these steps:

Important: Use the same email address as your existing Sophos Home account. This helps your existing installations upgrade automatically.
