Overview
Apple is releasing macOS 26 Tahoe on September 15, 2025. The current version of the Sophos Home 10.10.4, released May 2025,supports macOS 26 Tahoe for both new installations and upgrades from earlier versions of macOS. Please note that beta versions of Tahoe are not supported at any time.
New installations of Sophos Home on macOS 26 Tahoe
- Existing users > download the Sophos Home installer from your Sophos Home dashboard.

New users > download the Sophos Home Trial via the
Sophos Home website.
- Please see the “Known issues” section if you are prompted to allow local network discovery.
- Open the downloaded package and follow the on-screen prompts.

Upgrading from an earlier macOS version
- Ensure your Mac is running the latest Sophos Home version by Locating your Sophos Home version and comparing it to the Release notes
- Update to macOS Tahoe via System Preferences > Software Update.
- After a reboot, Sophos Home will automatically apply the latest components.
- Confirm your protection status displays “You are protected” in the Sophos Home Shield, located on your menu bar, or via your Sophos Home Dashboard.

Network discovery prompt during clean installs
When installing Sophos Home on a Mac that was not previously protected by Sophos Home, macOS may ask whether to allow the installer to find other devices on the local network. Here’s an example of what this prompt may look like, please note that the component name might vary:
