Applies to: Sophos Home Mac 10.0.2 on macOS 11 and above
When you install (or update to) Sophos Home 10.0.2 on macOS 11 (Big Sur) or above, you will be prompted to allow the SophosWebNetworkExtension system extension to add proxy configurations.
This should be allowed to provide the functionality of Sophos Homes' Web Protection features.
If you did not allow this system extension, you can resolve it by restarting the mac. This will prompt you to allow the system extension once again.
Watch this video with the steps to allow the network extension:
If you are concerned about your data privacy see: Sophos Home Privacy Policy
LaunchPad:
After Installing/Updating to Sophos Home 10.0.2, you will see 3 Items in Launchpad.
- Sophos Home
- Sophos Scan
- SophosWebNetworkExtension
This is expected, but they can be moved to a folder if you would like by following: https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mh35840/mac
Known issues:
There seems to be an issue with sending mail if Little Snitch, by Objective Development, is installed alongside this system extension. Removing Little Snitch resolves.
