What's happening
In order to work around a Windows stop problem, we had temporarily disabled two features that were incompatible with the update:
Protect against Keyloggers (keyboard encryption)
Stop malicious USB devices (badUSB)
Unfortunately, we will not be able to bring these features back at this time. We are officially removing them from our product. This wasn't an easy decision to make, but rest assured your devices are still secure with our product, please see: Our full list of protection features here
Am I still protected online?
Whereas these two features will be removed, all other Sophos Home layers will continue working to keep your computer secure.
Safe Browsing - Protect against Keyloggers
- Keystroke encryption against keyloggers has been removed - Feature name:

- Enable Safe Browsing is still working, and will protect you from MITB attacks:

to monitor a web browser’s crypt, presentation, and
network interfaces to detect man-in-the-browser
attacks that are common in many banking Trojans
Risk reduction - Stop malicious USB devices

Risk Reduction contains several features that are applied globally to the machine.
badUSB stops malicious USB devices, e.g. evil maid attack-
Stop malicious USB devices feature has been removed
- Sophos will still protect you from malware coming via external drives, by leveraging Real-Time Protection.

How can I tell if the protections are off?
Access your Sophos Home Dashboard
Note: You may see it on red/green, but as long as it is grayed out, it means it is disabled.
Notice keystrokes encryption is disabled/grayed out
Navigate to PROTECTION > Web > Safe Online Banking > Advanced Settings
The entry for Protect against Keyloggers is grayed out
Notice Stop malicious USB devices (badUSB) is disabled/grayed out
Navigate to PROTECTION> Exploits> Risk Reduction > Advanced settings
The entry for Stop malicious USB devices is grayed out
