Applies to Sophos Home for Windows and macOS
What is the Sophos Home Operating System Support policy?
Our Operating System Support Policy follows a cybersecurity practice called “Patch Early, Patch Often” to determine which systems will receive Sophos Home updates in the future. This policy ensures you are protected from known vulnerabilities and reduces the attack surface of your system.
Sophos Home minimally requires running Operating Systems that are still receiving vendor security updates. In rare cases, Sophos may retire support for a specific OS at an earlier/later date if needed.

How does this policy apply to macOS systems?
For macOS systems, Sophos Home will generally support Apple’s latest macOS release, and the two previous releases.
We recognize that Apple does not officially publish end-of-support dates, but they have historically only released security patches for three years after the version’s initial release date.*

How does this policy apply to Windows systems?
For Windows systems, Sophos Home will generally support versions up until their end-of-support date provided by Microsoft. *

*Note: The above are general guidelines for our intended support timelines. Sophos may end support for a specific version of an operating system sooner, or in rare cases later, due to technical reasons or usage numbers. You can check the currently supported operating system versions here:
