This article lists the minimum system requirements needed to install Sophos Home. These include supported versions of macOS and Windows, as well as hardware needs.
If your computer does not meet the minimum requirements, you will not be able to install/use Sophos Home.
At this time, we do not support Chrome or Linux operating systems.
Mac computers requirements
Minimum system specifications:
4GB RAM
4GB HDD space (an additional 3GB of free space is required for ransomware module)
Note: Sophos Home will provide full protection on devices that meet the minimum specifications. However, due to hardware performance and limitations, some users might experience CPU and memory spikes or occasional system slowness when performing demanding tasks (such as scanning several files at once, or during automatic Sophos Home updates).
Recommended system specifications:
8GB RAM
4GB HDD space (an additional 3GB of free space is required for ransomware module), and the latest macOS version available for your hardware.
